The business had a requirement to implement the new Books & Records regulation within a very short time frame, as part of the technical design Alteryx was chosen as the best tool. Without Dave & Stuart’s efforts the project would not have been able to deliver on time, which would have resulted in the business failing to meet its regulatory deadlines, I would recommend either of them if you are looking to do any development on the Alteryx tool.
RBS International (RBSI) Technology Design Authority approved the Alteryx software tool for use across RBSI.
The NatWest Trustee & Depositary Services Ltd (TDS) business had a requirement to implement the new Books & Records regulation within a very short time frame.
Alteryx was chosen as the best tool for meeting the requirements around Extract Transform & Load (ETL) of over 50 different supplier data files due to its flexibility, speed of delivery and ability to work as a team.
Alteryx Server was implemented to automate the Alteryx workflow execution and allow the RBSI business team to access and run Alteryx workflows and applications for data review and reconciliation without needing desktop software and licenses.
Dave Johnson from Continuum was contracted to the Books & Records project as the developer for the Alteryx ETL processes, it was very apparent from the outset that Dave had a great deal of experience and knowledge on the Alteryx tool set.
This came to the fore during the early design of the technical solution when there were issues around the toolsets available to RBSI to undertake the reconciliations between the TDS record and the Customers Custodian record, a fundamental part of the Books & Records requirement.
Dave suggested Alteryx as a cost effective and robust alternative to the current in-house solutions to perform the reconciliation function as well as the ETL function.
This delivered the critical requirement quickly whilst adding a significant saving to the overall project costs.
Continuum also created a set of bespoke reconciliation applications within Alteryx for the TDS team to use.
Dave was instrumental in getting the Alteryx Server applications installed and running within the RBSI infrastructure which was initially a challenge due to our own internal security policies and configurations. The ETL processes Dave developed to process the supplier data files have proved to be robust, scalable and easily configurable meaning that our on going support and development needs have been easily met by our existing teams, and enabling the TDS business to automate more of their supplier data files.
Continuum built circa 40 bespoke applications with Alteryx to handle all the TDS business requirements around reconciliations and the managing/processing of reconciliation breaks, this was a particular challenge as the business requirements were continually changing on a weekly basis, resulting in a lot of extended hours working to ensure the tight time scales were met. Continuum provided training on each of their process that was comprehensive and easy to follow, which has aided our on going use of Alteryx for TDS.
Without Continuum’s efforts the project would not have been able to deliver on time, resulting in the TDS business failing to meet its regulatory deadlines.
I would recommend the Continuum team if you are looking to do any development on the Alteryx tool.
