Our Summer 2024 Interns: Where Are They Now?
From Interns to Industry Trailblazers: Jacob & Nikita’s Journey
We love seeing bright minds shine, and our bursary program is all about giving students the opportunity to gain real-world experience and supercharge their careers.
This year, we’re celebrating two of our 2024 summer interns, Jacob and Nikita, as they graduate from our bursary program and take on some seriously impressive next steps.
Jacob: From Alteryx Wizard to ARM Holdings Intern
Jacob joined us last summer and quickly became a pro at data analytics, mastering Alteryx for data cleansing and automation.
And here’s the best part—he’s still using those skills! He’s currently leveraging Alteryx for his university dissertation, as can any full time student simply by registering for their free Alteryx licence here.
But wait, there's more! Jacob won’t be with us this summer because he’s landed a prestigious internship with ARM Holdings in Cambridge—yep, the global tech powerhouse.
And as if that wasn't enough, he’s also on track to Imperial College London for his Master's in “Analogue and Digital Integrated Circuit Design” - hopefully we’ll all be using his chip designs in the near future !
Nikita: Crunching Numbers & Conquering Olympiads
Nikita brought incredible mathematical knowledge to our team, tackling complex problems with ease. She’s enjoying completing her mathematics Masters at Oxford so much, that she’s decided to apply for a PhD! Here’s what she’s shared with us, when we caught up over email recently:
"As for my plans, I’m staying at Oxford for my integrated Masters in Mathematics. I’m currently specialising in pure mathematics, specifically in the areas of algebra and topology. I just finished my dissertation on geometric group theory. As this was such an interesting experience, I’ve decided to apply for a PhD in pure mathematics.
Most excitingly, I’m looking into a field called Topological Data Analysis (TDA), which uses very abstract parts of algebraic topology to study data. It has many applications, including neuroscience and AI! It is quite a fast-paced area of mathematical research- I really hope I can get involved.
I think of Continuum often when looking at TDA applications. I’m really glad I was able to experience the ‘real’ aspects of data science before looking at it from a more abstract perspective.”
The Next Generation of Bursary Stars
Jacob and Nikita have set the bar high, and we couldn’t be prouder of them.
But as they move on to bigger and bolder adventures, we’re also gearing up to welcome a new wave of bursary students this summer. If you’re an aspiring data whiz, analytics guru, or just someone who wants to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and supportive environment, stay tuned—your opportunity could be just around the corner.
But in the meantime, Jacob and Nikita, congratulations, we can’t wait to see what you achieve next.
And to future interns: Are you ready to be the next success story?
