Alteryx is Predicting if it’s “Coming Home” for one Lucky Continuum Member in our EUROS 2020 Sweepstake

With the Euros coming to a close this week, here is how our team utilized Alteryx to keep track of who was in the lead in our sweep-stake.

Methodology

  1. We began with the traditional, drawing pieces of paper out the hat concept, to decide who got which team. Since there are 9 of us, it meant we could have 2 teams each and 6 teams left over.

  2. We then added each Continuum members’ name and Euros teams, and the latest odds from the bookies, into Alteryx by adding two inputs into a workflow.

  3. The workflow then provides a graph, showing the chances of winning over time and some stats on what your chances are winning right now.

CURRENT RESULTS

  • Jacqui luckily has the England team (purple line on the graph) so Alteryx is predicting that she has a high chance of winning, based on the fact they’re playing in the semi-finals on Wednesday.

  • Simon (Spain/light blue line) will be facing George (Italy/red line) this evening to battle it out for the final spot on Wednesday - Good luck to the both of them!

  • George (red line) had a reasonably good stake with the Continuum sweepstake, by picking Italy and Belgium. On the other hand, our colleague Martin sadly pulled Turkey and Poland from the ‘hat’, which didn’t seem to help in the Alteryx predictions…

  • However, Wednesday’s England game (Jacqui) is against Denmark (Matteo/pink line), which will decide who joins the final with either Simon or George. Good luck to Jacqui and Matteo for Wednesday (secretly hoping England win, so we make it into the real finals…sorry Matteo).

Who do you think will win our sweepstake?
